Tumble
Having driven a Reliant Robin in Scotland, Lawrie was very much bitten by the bug, and promptly started looking for a car - thinking it would be the perfect vehicle to take on LMMons, primarily because Morgan would absolutely hate it.
Current Status - Requires clutch replacement
History
The Reliant Rialto was the replacement to the much better known Robin, with the saloon being a much less common variant., and this example being made in 1985. She is fitted with the high compression 'yellow top' giving enough power to reach the heady speeds of over 80mph.
The car was purchased as a running project, and kept away from The Shed, so it's restoration could be carried out in secret without the other members going taking part on LMMons knowing.
Restoration involved getting almost the entirety of the electrical systems to work, renewing the brakes, getting new tyres, and getting it's first MOT in at least 15 years.
The car returned to the road on the morning of LMMons, and successfully completed the trip, even though it spent some time in the garage for a failed fuel pressure switch.
Lawrie continued to use the car as his daily over winter, until it developed clutch issues. The car is going to have some work done to the carburettor when the clutch is replaced.
