Legacy
Lawrie's first road legal car, and a faithful friend in which he's travelled all over the UK. The car was once owned by Lawrie's Nan, and after her passing serves as his link to her.
Current Status - Failed MOT, awaiting repairs.
History
The little 106 was purchased by Lawrie's Nan to replace her 205 which she was struggling to park without Power Steering. It remains the only time in Nan's life that she went out and impulse purchased something. She went to the shops, saw the car for sale, and drove home in it.
She is a Look 2, which featured Power Steering, five doors, a sun roof, front fog lights, and work out windows. The car is powered by the throttle bodied controlled 1.1 Litre four pot, which is now on it's third head gasket in Lawrie's ownership.
When Lawrie began driving the car, it was around 80,000 miles. Over the next years, Lawrie has put over 100,000 miles on it, and currently the car has less than ten thousand to go before it reaches the mighty 200,000 miles.
Following the ill fated Scotland trip, the 106 suffered a failure on the coolant system, and whilst it was patched up and limped home, the car remained unhappy, consuming the same volume of fuel as Matt's MR2 on the run home, and following an MOT fail, was stopped for further investigation.
